Having sewn up the title last month, Thai-Norwegian Sandy Stuvik eased up in the EuroFormula Championship, settling for fifth position in the second race at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit on Sunday.

Struggling with his tyres, Stuvik crossed the line 15.926 seconds behind winner Alex Palou of Campos Racing. Canada’s Nelson Manson of E de Villota Motorsport came second, followed by Israel’s Yarin Stern of Team West-Tec3.
However the first race on Saturday saw Stuvik dominate with a time of 29:09.618, followed by Palou of Spain then Stern. Stuvik, who had won seven consecutive races since Silverstone, claimed the 2014 Spanish Formula title thanks to his results at three Spanish circuits, Algarve, Jerez and Catalunya.
Stuvik had already captured the real prize this season – the 2014 EuroFormula title – thanks to his performance at Monza in Italy last month. He currently tops the standings with 332 points, with Artur Janosz of Poland second on 243 and Palou third with 242.
