Find good parties in Bangkok

Need a holiday?

Head to Ku De Ta near the Chong Nonsi BTS station tonight to win an escape to the X2 Samui Resort. The resort, internationally acclaimed for its unique design and breathtaking views, is on Hua Thanon Beach and boasts 27 chic villas. The winners will spend two romantic nights in a Deluxe Pool Villa and wake up to a champagne breakfast. The total value is Bt60,000. Call (02) 108 2000.

Vadim gets Greased

Dubway Sessions returns to Grease on Sukhumvit Soi 49 tonight with the resident crew and guest DJ Vadim, a veteran spinner, a top producer and a man who never runs out of ideas. Now approaching his 20th year in the trade, Vadim has given more than 2,500 performances in 68 countries. Entry is free. Call (089) 212 1455.

Buckle your swash

Take a (careful) look at the art of sabrage at the Rembrandt Hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 18 on Tuesday when it hosts the gala dinner “Confrerie du Sabre: Where Sword Meets Bottle”. Sabrage is whacking the cork off a Champagne bottle, a practice begun by Napoleon’s officers as a celebration of victory. Watch and dine for Bt3,700, and for Bt5,700 they’ll give you a bottle of GH Mumm and hand you the sword. Call (02) 261 7100.

A tribute to Josh

Ku De Ta is hosting a fund-raiser for the late DJ Josh Ezelle on Thursday. The Phuket-based American DJ, who had only just become a father before being killed in a recent car accident, was a long-time resident at Bed Supperclub and a key player in making it world-renowned. Donations of at least Bt500 (for Ezelle’s family) are welcome and you get a drink to toast Josh.

So refreshing!

You can quench your thirst with summer cocktails all next month at the Dream Hotel Bangkok on Sukhumvit Soi 15. Cool down with tasty, herbal drinks like a Lemongrass Cooler, Summer Heat Cocktail and others made with Thai herbs like ginger and kaffir lime leaves. Call (02) 254 8500.
