Find a fanciful tote at Everyday Life Elements

It’s been an interior design studio and a |furniture manufacturer, but today Everyday Life Elements or ELE as it’s known for short, is going all out to draw the fashionista crowd with trendy canvas bags and related accessories with funky motifs and in colourful shades.

It was back in 2002 that Patchara Pitipanich introduced her furniture and colourful printed covers to the market only to retreat when she couldn’t find her niche.

Two years later, she returned with a collection of bags printed with giraffe and peacock designs. Fortunately, they proved popular with shoppers at the Bangkok International Gift and Houseware Fairs and also earned many export orders from Europe and around Asia.

Today, she’s teamed up with Pumate “Jay” Techabanjeard, who holds a master’s degree in textiles from Marimekko in Finland, and is responsible for design. The two aim to produce bags that are affordable and useful for everyday life.

The main material is canvas though you can find some denim bags too along with, PU leather wallets and key rings too.

“We let a bag tell a story. We will set up a scene and character in each collection. For example, the ‘Appear’ collection is a mix of apple and pear while the Pointer Town Resort blends a house and arrow in similar shapes,” says artistic director Pumate. “But the best sellers are the colourful canvas bags printed with a whale motif. They are very popular with youngsters.”

Functional in design, most bags come with a strap and several pockets. Stroll around the store and you’ll find handbags, shoulder bags, laptop bags, iPad cases, key chains, wallets, luggage, cosmetic bags and teddy bears. Coming up for next winter is a collection inspired by the fashions of the ’50s.

Patchara and Pumate recently expanded their line to include clothing and scarves that made from quality cotton.

ELE has a branch at Asiatique and some products are also available at Siam Paragon, Central, TCDC and Let’s Sea resort in Hua Hin.
