Concerts, movies and even making EM balls with the stars are all on the agenda for the coming days as water levels drop

With floodwater receding in several places around Bangkok and politicians promising that most, if not all, the water will have gone by the new year, the entertainment business is slowly springing back to life with three major organisations coming up with activities over the next week to speed up spiritual recovery.
Seed MCOT’s managing director Teerapat “Tui” Sajjakul has joined up with Pattaya City for the charity concert, “Seed Show No 73 Suan Nueng: For Flood Victims”, on the beach along Pattaya Sai 1 opposite Soi 4 next Saturday.
“Our policy at Seed 97.5 FM is to help flood victims around the country through several activities including the distribution of survival kits. This time, we are organising a show with many artists,” says Tui.
Those artists include Dan Worrawech, Ice Sarunyoo, Sqweez Animal, Superbaker, and Slot Machine. DJs from the radio station will help to keep the audience happy and call for bids at a grand auction of personal belongings brought along by both artists and DJs. There’ll also be lots of booths around the stage selling fun stuff as well as necessities.
A limited edition of T-shirts bearing the “Seed Suan Nueng” logo and priced at Bt200 a pop will also be for sale.
All proceeds will go to help flood victims nationwide. Donations can be made to Seed MCOT savings account with Siam Commercial Bank, Asoke branch, number 032-4-64808-5.
Today and tomorrow, GMM Grammy and A-Time Media, led by CEO Saithip Montrikul Na Ayudhaya are collaborating with Thai Beverage’s president and CEO Thapana Sirivadhabhakdi and the D Ambassador’s chairman Danai Chanchaochai on “Ruamphol Khon Do D Plien Namsia Hai Pen Namdee” at Urban Space opposite CentralWorld.
The activity, which runs from 10am to 7pm, invites people to join artists and actors from several TV production houses in making 200,000 EM (effective micro-organism) balls that they believe will treat contaminated floodwaters.
When they’re not working on the EM balls, the artists will perform mini-concerts and offer up their worldly goods for auction.
Money raised will be used to buy the ingredients for more EM balls.
Sahamongkolfilm International is also aiming to raise spirits by showing movies and bringing celebrities along to flood centres until Tuesday.
Tomorrow at 5pm, it’s screening “Saranae Siblor” at Prachapiban School in Bang Khen.
On Monday at 5pm, flood refugees and others at Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi can enjoy “Poompuang” in the company of director Bandit Thongdee and actress Paowalee Pornpimol.
On Tuesday, also at 5pm, “Three Musketeers” will be screened at Rajasitharam Technical College in Bang Bon in the presence of Patteera “Orn” Sarutipongpokin, star of “Saranae Siblor”.
Last but not least, Publisher Polkadot is launching its new so-called mini dot, “Come Home: Klub Baan … Kap Wongthanong”, at bookshops countrywide.
The book, penned by Wongthanong Chainarongsingha, who is managing editor of a day bulletin and advising editor to a day, Hamburger, and KnockKnock!, is all about renovating your home while retaining its heart. It includes mending broken water mains, retiling the roof, fixing kitchen, toilet and bedroom, and installing the electrical system.
