The pair clash in a non-title flyweight kickboxing contest at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Rodtang hasn’t been seen in the ring since ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 stopped his 14-fight win streak in their highly anticipated showdown last September.
Earlier this year, Rodtang had to withdraw from a blockbuster fight against Japanese superstar Takeru Segawa due to a hand injury.
Rodtang has reigned over the flyweight Muay Thai division since 2019, although he has kept his foot in the kickboxing door with a pair of recent wins in the sport.
Now that he has recovered from his injury setback, the Thai star is ready to further his kickboxing campaign against an opponent who is riding a wave of momentum.
Puric, the No.2 ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender, made it no secret that he wants to test his mettle against Rodtang.
With wins in his two most recent outings, the most recent of which was a hard-fought unanimous decision over Jacob Smith earlier this month, the 39-year-old has gotten his wish.
Prior to his wild slugfest with Smith, Puric dispatched surging Vietnamese knockout artist Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat with a crushing second-round left hook at ONE Fight Night 17 in December.
The upcoming matchup between Rodtang and Puric adds to ONE 167, which is headlined by ONE women’s atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex. She attempts the first defence of her crown when she faces former training partner and top divisional contender Denice Zamboanga.
A women’s atomweight MMA contest between Japanese rising star Itsuki Hirata and ultra-tough Brazilian Victoria Souza has also been added to the card.
