Too many vegetables, not enough meat
During the month of June, there were a staggering 32 letters in Have Your Say debating the subject of veganism, plus a further six that referred to it in passing. I have to ask the question – are we the readers any the wiser as a result of all this?
What we know beyond doubt is as follows: 1. Some people eat meat. 2. Some people don’t. 3. Those who don’t despise those who do. 4. Those who do wish that those who don’t would shut up.
So the debate has not progressed since Eric Bahrt started it last century. The sole nugget of new information during June is that Dr Frank ate a beefsteak that he named “Eric”.
I respectfully suggest to all Have Your Sayers that from hereon we focus on more pressing matters such as the collapse of western European civilisation, the criminalisation of free speech, the eradication of Christianity, the forthcoming Third World War, and Horace Beasley’s sexual exploits.
