Aussie-Japanese semi showdowns in Hua Hin Challenger

Aussie duo John Millman and Andrew Whittington successfully reserved their spots in the semi-finals of the US$150,000 EA Hua Hin Open Challenger at the True Arena in Hua Hin on Saturday.

Eighth seeded Millman, ranked 165th in the world, wasted just two games to demolish Alexey Vattin of Russia 6-2 6-0 while countryman Whittington, ranked 240th, worked much harder to beat rising star Edan Leshem of Greece 1-6 6-4 6-3.

Whittington is to line up a clash against Japanese Go Soeda who upset top seed Matthew Ebden of Australia 6-4 7-5.
