Mooncakes with a modern flavour
The Shangri-La Hotel’s Shang Palace Chinese Restaurant is gearing up for the Mid-Autumn celebration with new cream-custard lava mooncakes along with the best-selling baked varieties and a premium snow skin creation that will be available from Wednesday (August 23) to October 6.
This new mini-size mooncakes are available in a set of eight pieces and each offers a perfect balance between smooth and creamy salted egg yolks and high-quality milk when the rich filling oozes out.
Fans can still enjoy the traditional moon cakes prepared and baked to golden brown in popular flavours of durian, mixed fruit and nuts, lotus seed and red bean. Guests who prefer no-bake dough sweets can indulge in the premium Snow Skin Mini Cream Custard and Bird’s Nest Mooncakes served in a Peach Box collection of six pieces.
Ideal as a gift, the 100 limited-edition boxes feature two pieces of Mixed Fruit and Nuts, Lotus Seed and Red Bean mooncakes, plus one giant-size and one normal-size Durian flavour. Guests can opt for a set of four, six and eight pieces, ranging in price from Bt768 to Bt3,188. Specially designed, the exquisite blue boxes come in geometrical imbrications and boast a touch of golden yellow.
A special discount is available for online purchases via ShangBkkMooncake.com and orders between Bt5,000 and Bt100,001 at Shang Pala Booth are discounted by five to 15 per cent until September 15. Golden Circle members will also get 10-per-cent discount irrespective of volume purchased from August 23 to September 15.
