 Princess Sirivannavari already in KL

Princess Sirivannavari arrived in Kuala Lumpur yesterday on a Royal Thai Air Force plane to prepare for the SEA Games equestrian competition, which will take place on August 22.

Welcomed by Thai Ambassador to Malaysia Damrong Kraikruan and Thai chef de mission Thana Chaiprasit, the princess will participate in the dressage event with her favourite horse Princess Charming for one last time before its retirement.

The Princess, who has been training in France, accepted the invitation from the Thailand Equestrian Federation to represent the Kingdom in the regional competition. Her Royal Highness, who made her debut in the 2013 edition in Myanmar, will be participating in the event for the second time.

Meanwhile, Thailand will send only 300 athletes for the Opening Ceremony parade though the hosts wanted more participants. Thai delegate Supit Samahito said Thai athletes are too tied up with competition and training and participating in the opening ceremony would be a distraction.
