Red-hot Parinda Phokan from Khon Kaen claimed back-to-back wins following her one stroke victory in the fifth leg of BT1 Million Singha-SAT Toyota Championship at the par 72 6,411 yard Royal Hua Hin Golf Course yesterday.

The in-form 20-year-old who just celebrated her maiden title in the previous stop at the Kabinburi Sport Club in Prachinburi a fortnight ago shot four birdies against a finishing bogey for a final 69 and a total four under-par-212, a shot ahead of Kanyalak Preedasuttijit and Chonlada Chayanun.

“Winning two straight tournaments really made me happy. I was leading two shots going to the 18th hole and drove the ball to the woods for no reason,” said Parinda who walked away with the winning prize money of Bt142,500.

“I needed two putts to pull it off on the 18th. But overall I’m quite happy with the way I was playing as it was my best round this week. There were several slopes to the holes and I overhit several times. Luckily I hit the irons well which really helped,” she said.

Kanyalak scored the round’s lowest of 66 for a total 213 to share the second place with Chonlada who hit a 71. Each won the runner-up’s prize money of BT78,730.

The sixth circuit of the BT1 Million Singha-SAT Toyota Championship will return to Prachinburi between August 9-11.
