Edition brings its luxury hotels to Tokyo
Marriott International and Ian Schrager have signed two separate agreements with Mori Trust for the Tokyo Editions in Ginza and Toranomon that are expected to open in 2020.
With a great location, these two distinctive luxury lifestyle hotels will provide the best dining, entertainment, first-class services and amenities for urban travellers.
Edition properties combine the personal, intimate, individualised experience for which Ian Schrager is known with the global reach, operational expertise and scale of Marriott.

The Tokyo Edition, Ginza will be a newly built 13-storey standalone property with 80 guestrooms. Located just off Chuo Street, the main shopping street in Ginza, the hotel site affords convenient access to Ginza-Itchome, Ginza and Tokyo stations, as well as shopping complexes, restaurants and tourist attractions such as Tokyo Imperial Palace. Construction is expected to start in May next year, with an opening planned for March 2020.

Meanwhile, the 200-room Tokyo Edition Toranomon will be rebuilt from the former Pastoral Building, a mixed-use project comprising offices, residences and a medical centre. Located in Minato ward, the hotel site is a walking distance from Kamiyacho and Roppongi-Itchome stations and a short drive to Toranomo and Tokyo station as well as retail and dining facilities, with the hotel opening planned for 2020.
