A fishy day out

One of the most popular displays of rare aquatic animals, the annual Pramong Nomklao returns to Future Park this Friday for a 10-day showcase of fish and other creatures of the deep.

Organised by the Fisheries Department and the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital at Mahidol University, the event celebrates the 60th birthday of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn.
 “The 29th Pramong Nomklao” aims to promote and conserve rare aquatic plants and animals and publicise knowledge about them. I
One of the exhibitions, the “Royal Chemist who Loves Fish”, will recount of art of caring for fish. Other highlights include a three-metre high “Waterfalls of Art” aquarium; Street Fish Art, a 150-metre walkway showcasing beautiful fish, rare river animals from the Amazon river, the Potamon Bhumibol, the biggest freshwater crab in Thailand; four-metre alligator; and two-metre giant freshwater whipray. 
All income will be donated to Chulabhorn Foundation to support cancer sufferings.
