GlobeTech, provider of the Nostra Map Thailand location content for smartphones and tablets, recently unveiled a new layer to its maps. It shows updating information and recommendations on tourist attractions worth visiting during the Songkran festival.
The data include more than 35 watersplashing events across the country, complete with navigation guidance. The destinations include Wat Phra Chetuphon, Wat Arun, the Maha Raj pier, the Yodphiman River Walk, a 140-year-old Lanna house in Chiang Mai, Phang Nga Road on Phuket, Khao Chae Road in Phetchaburi, and Khao Hang Road in Sakhon Nakhon.
“The information our application provides covers recommended and popular spots where people will be splashing water, along with other useful festival-related information,” says GlobeTech general manager Wichai Saenghirunwattana.
“The activities include sprinkling water on Buddha statues, offering flowers as alms to monks, and pouring water over the hands of revered elders. All of these are traditional activities, a legacy of bygone days.”
Explore the recommended locales starting today by logging on with the application and tapping the map layer “Songkran Festival 2017”. The Nostra Map app can be downloaded from either the Google Play Store or the Apple Store.
