Pavit Tangkamolprasert settled his second round with a square par 71 and a total five under-par-137 to finish four shots after Seungsu Han in the SMBC Singapore Open on Friday.

Playing at the par 71 , 7,398-yard Serapong course for the second time in a decade, the Thai hope traded all of his four birdies with four bogeys. He is currently at joint fourth along with countryman Panuphol Pittayarat, who also hit a 71, Japanese Satoshi Kodaira, one of the first round leaders, and South Korean Younghan Song.

“It was really tough when I started out in the morning. It was raining and very windy. I was three-over after my first four holes but I managed to recover and turn in 35. I stuck to my game plan and got better from there. The birdie on 15 was a good confidence booster. I was able to get back on track after that,” said the 27-year-old Asian Tour winner in Macau last year.

“I am putting good at the moment. I have been putting well since last year actually. I am happy to be able to bring over my good form into this year. My driving has not been as good this week though. You need to hit good tee shots to score on this golf course. It can get very difficult if you miss the fairways. I love the greens here. It’s almost like the greens in Macau when I won.”

“The conditions are superb here and I am thrilled to be able to play alongside world class players here in Singapore. I feel very different now compared to 10 years ago. Obviously the game is much better now! I have gained more experiences over the years too. It’s always nice to come and play in Singapore. I used to play here a lot when I was an amateur.

“There has been a lot of changes these 10 years. It hasn’t been easy to get to where I am right now. Winning my first Asian Tour event in Macau last year has given me a lot of confidence in my game. Playing and winning on the Asian Development Tour earlier has helped a lot in my career too.”
