You have to feel for Mahakan Fort folk

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2016

The eviction of resident families from the Mahakan Fort neighbourhood is a difficult situation.

Families who have lived there for many generations – perhaps since Rama 1, on land royally approved for their use – are now considered squatters.
The authorities should provide alternative housing for all the residents. Instead of creating a battle, give them land and help them build houses.
Perhaps just rebuilding the community in multilevel housing would increase enough space for a park and the community.
I suspect the real problem is money, as hi-so folks in the government do not want to spend anything to help the common citizen.
