Saranporn, despite an ending 73, was locked tight at four-under-par 212 along with amateur Shotika Phadungmartvorakul and Dolnapa Phudthipinij. The latter two signed off with 68s in the final leg of the Thai LPGA tournament before the Masters.
An extra play was competed on the 18 th hole and it was the girl from the South who produced a stunning birdie to seal off the victory which marked her first Thai LPGA title.
“Actually I was up with eight under after 11 holes but bogeys on the 12 th and 18 th holes and a double bogey on the 15 th pushed me backward. I was so happy to come back and won in the play-off,” said Saranporn who won the top prize money of Bt114,000.
“It’s even more special to me because this is my first win on the Thai LPGA. I’m glad that I’m No 1 on the Order of Merit,” said the teenager whose total gross on the 2016 Thai LPGA Tour money leaders is at Bt553,610.
“Next week I will compete in the All Thailand Tour in Kon Kaen before joining two events on the Taiwan Tour. Then I will come back to play the Thai LPGA Masters next month in Bangkok.”
