A lovely, if fleeting, reunion for Marsha and Nui

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 04, 2013

Singer Amphon "Nui" Lampoon and actress Marsha Wattanapanich memorably posed together on the covers of magazines more than two decades ago, and it comes as a nice surprise that they're doing it again

The long-separated parents of 24-year-old son Nawapon “Guy” look great fronting the “late November” issue of Praew. We hadn’t seen them together in ages until Marsha recently joined Nui onstage at a Micro show and then Nui was ringside for Marsha’s concert, handing her a bouquet of love. Were they getting back together?
No, it’s still just a matter of good friends. “When I have problem or I’m stressed out I call P’ Nui, but he works hard and if it’s late I won’t,” says Marsha.
She’d agreed to join him onstage because he called and asked her himself. She hesitated, thinking she’d look out of place at a rock gig, but he pointed out that she had a terrific rock tune on one of her albums, so she agreed to give it a shot. Her turn in the spotlight turned out to be one the evening’s highlights.
And that’s what got them on a magazine cover together again. This time, though, it was Nui who had the jitters. “I haven’t done that for a long time and didn’t think I’d look good, unlike Marsha. She can strike a fresh pose anytime,” he laughs. Marsha just told him she’d take care of everything. She even chipped in as his personal stylist, letting him have his rock ’n’ roll edge. Another reunion, another triumph.

Tata’s got a shadow
Now don’t be bugging pop superstar Tata Young about her marriage plans. She’s totally in love at the moment with a handsome Romanian named Victor and riding on air now that he’s just been granted a one-year visa to stay in Thailand.
“Now he’s like my shadow and follows me everywhere!” she beamed at reporters at an event with Victor sure enough in tow. So the reporters decided to start bugging her about their marriage plans. “No, I don’t think so,” she said. “I feel happy just staying together. I am not the kind of person who’d throw a big wedding party.” If there were a wedding, it would be very small and very private. “I don’t need to do anything big and fancy because my parents up in Heaven already know about my love.”
Plus, there’s that thing about being a celebrity where everyone wants to know what you’re up to all the time, Tata said. But as long as she has her fans, who certainly care about her, she’s happy with life.
The happiness quotient is way up thanks to the Thai immigration authorities because she and Victor had hardly been seeing each other at all. With the recent death of her father Tim Young, Tata had to spend significant time in the United States. Now she wants time to catch up with her heart.
