On the right track

After suffering severe losses and struggling with change, Japan’s Kyushu Railway Company finally found the right format and today provides the most extensive tourist railway service under the name JR Kyushu.

Providing a model for Thailand to follow in its own moves to develop more passenger rail transport, the secret behind JR Kyshu’s success is unveiled in “Designing a Happy Journey: Reviving Kyushu Through Creativity”, an exhibition that at the Thailand Creative and Design Centre until May 26. 
Part of the exhibition showcases the work of designer Eiji Mitoota, drew up train exteriors and interiors, railway stations, signs and uniforms. There are also installations of train fixtures such as chairs and seat upholstery.

Korea Post celebrates the inauguration of South Korea’s first female president, Park Geun-hye, with a commemorative stamp.
