Subscribers can weigh other options

THURSDAY, MARCH 08, 2012

As a loyal subscriber of UBC/True Visions since 2003 I have had the opportunity to witness the progress of digital television's successes and flops firsthand here in Bangkok.

I realise that as a non-Thai, I am a guest in this country, and do not have unreasonably high expectations. However, last year was the low point for True Visions subscriber services as far as I’m concerned. Of course I’m referring to the unannounced cancellation of ASN and loss of American television content.
I am writing to request an update outlining the progress of True Visions’ promised negotiations for the rights to American Football (NFL) for the 2012 season. It appears Customer Service is still affected by last year’s flooding, hence the letter to The Nation. With other premium services becoming available in the region such as 1 Sky and Vooz IPTV, and with the NFL season only a few months away, it is time to review all options. I currently pay more than Bt40,000 a year for True Visions content but watch few shows and do not want to miss another season of American Football.
I am also writing on behalf of several friends unhappy with the cancellation of ASN, NHL and the NFL.
