Narisara's a DIY armoured car

There are huge industries dedicated to the secure shipment and insuring of valuable goods, and MR Narisara Chakrabongse ignored both of them recently when she personally carried a priceless family heirloom halfway across Europe.

The item in question was an antique belt made of gold with a diamond of more than 100 carats embedded in the buckle. It’s kept in a bank vault in Switzerland, but a London museum wanted to put in on display.
Musician Hugo Chakrabongse’s mum Narisara tells Hello! magazine that she simply collected the belt from the bank and caught the cross-channel train. “Well, if I had to hire someone to transport it and get it insured, it would have cost me as much as a big diamond ring!” she coolly explains.
British customs officials tried to act cool too when Narisara showed up with the half-kilo treasure. Okay, they said, but is it yours?
Again, the lady was prepared. She pulled out a photograph of her parents, Prince Chula Chakrabongse and Elizabeth (nee Hunter), the latter wearing the same belt that the customs staff now had before them. And Narisara’s passport confirmed the family relation. Mission accomplished.

Much better
Tanwarin “Golf” sukkaphisit appears to have picked an auspicious title for her latest movie, “It Gets Better” (“Mai Dai Kor Hai Ma Rak”), a multi-generational drama about transgender romance.
Her racy first feature “Insects in the Backyard” was banned. But “It Gets Better” got a theatrical release on Valentine’s Day and Tanwarin is celebrating earning Bt10 million after just one week.
That’s impressive considering that Golf has no promotion budget – the publicity was all by word of mouth.
“And the positive feedback convinced provincial theatres to buy the movie,” she says. So a wider release is expected.
By the way, Tanwarin’s production company is called Amfine, and that name fits too.
