If you haven’t already done so, say hello to @AnfieldCat, the feline that wandered onto the pitch during Tuesday’s Liverpool-Tottenham match at Anfield stadium.
The cat made a beeline for visiting Tottenham’s penalty box, halting the game and giving everyone hysterics. The Twitter account @AnfieldCat was swiftly registered and someone (probably not the cat) announced, “Enjoyed my quick run around on the hallowed Anfield turf.”
Amusement being such a rarity these days, the Anfield Cat had soon attracted more than 50,000 followers and also several plagiarists. “A lot of copycat Twitter accounts around,” the authentic cat complained. “I can confirm this is the official one.”
Furry humour samples:
_ “In my 3 minute cameo I ran past more players than [Tottenham player] Stewart Downing has all season.”
_ “Just had [Chelsea manager] Villas Boas on the phone asking me to teach Fernando Torres how to get in the box.”
_ “[Sidelined player] Owen Hargreaves rang my fitness coach. He is amazed I was on the pitch so long without getting injured and he’s after advice.”
_ “Turns out I’m on page 3 in the metro [tabloid newspaper] without having to take my clothes off. Take note, Katie Price.”
Non-committal
Actors Atichat “Aum” Chomnanont and Myria “Nat” Benedetti aren’t ready just yet to get on the celebrity wedding-announcement bandwagon, but they have formally allowed that it’s henceforth okay to refer to them as boyfriend and girlfriend.
“We’ve been in a relationship – we just haven’t announced it,” Aum says. As for marrying, however, “We’re not quite ready, but if there were a wedding, she would be my bride – that’s absolute.”
He says Nat has discussed wedding possibilities with her best friend Ann Thongprasong (Aum’s pretty sure Ann will marry before Nat does), and admits that his fellow male actors raise the subject too. “We talk about it casually and we say, ‘Well, you go first!’”
