Thailand’s police bureau told the press on Tuesday that it will soon have some good news on international drug trafficking, especially on shipments to countries like Hong Kong, Australia and New Zealand.

The announcement was made by deputy police commissioner Lt-General Manoo Mekmok.

Manoo said 11 suspects had been arrested in three separate cases, in which police seized a haul of 516 kilos of methamphetamine and 4.2 million pills of amphetamine.

He said police now have some strong evidence in hand, which will lead to some good news in the future.

Recent reports show that methamphetamine has become more easily available during the crisis, and the sources have been traced to five Asian countries, including Thailand.
