The 4th Army Area released a statement on Thursday saying that 26 AK102 assault rifles had been stolen from its military base in Narathiwat on May 18, not 28 as initially reported.

A suspect, identified as Hazan Samae, has been arrested and has reportedly confessed to selling the rifles. Additional information on the suspect has been withheld for security reasons.

So far, officials have found six of the stolen weapons that were allegedly being used by insurgents. Search is ongoing for the remaining 20.
