The Administrative Court on Thursday issued an order temporarily suspending the process to procure a constructor for two sections of the Thai-Chinese railway linking Bangkok and Nong Khai. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) said the suspension order covers construction of the Kaeng Khoi-Klang Dong and Pang Asoke-Bandai Ma sections in phase 1 of the 873-kilometre high-speed rail project.

The suspension order comes in response to a lawsuit filed by the ITD-CREC joint venture between China Railway No 10 Engineering Group and Italian-Thai Development Plc. ITD-CREC has appealed to the Comptroller General's Department against the award of the construction contract for the two sections. The contract auction was won by Napha Construction Co and partners from Malaysia.
