The river has been filled by rundowns from the North and neighbouring countries, with the provincial meteorological department reporting that the water level on Thursday (August 20) stood at 7.27 metres, 41 centimetres higher than yesterday.
Suriya Jongyotha, provincial officer of the Department of Fisheries, visited three crocodile farms in Nong Khai, which have some 170 crocodiles on Thursday.
Though the cages at the farms were found to be strong enough, the operators have been advised to follow meteorological reports so they can be prepared to prevent any crises.
