At 8pm, police were notified by the juristic authority of a condominium on Sukhumvit Soi 20, that an EU diplomat expected to stay in the building without being quarantined for Covid-19.
Police went to the building for more information and learned the woman had returned from Germany at 2pm.
A Foreign Ministry official took her for Covid-19 testing, and the result was negative.
However, the building’s juristic authority refused to let her stay as she had not been quarantined.
At a press conference on Friday, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said the condominium had been arranged by her organisation for her 14-day quarantine.
A solution was finally found at around 10pm after the EU diplomatic mission and the Foreign Ministry agreed to put her up at an alternative state quarantine facility.
Under CCSA rules governing the entry of diplomats and their spouses, children and parents, they will be screened at the country's entry point and tested for Covid-19. Then they will be quarantined in their accomodation for 14 days under the supervision of their organisations.
