Rains forecast for most of Thailand, isolated heavy showers in the East

The southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand while the southeasterly winds are blowing over the Northeast and the East, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Friday (July 17).

The department forecast continued rainfall in most of the country with isolated heavy rain in the East. People in the East have been urged to beware of the severe conditions.


The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees Celsius and highs of 34-36°C .
Northeast: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C and highs of 34-36°C.
Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-25°C, highs of 31-35°C.
East: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-27°C, highs of 31-35°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 32-34°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 32-33°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-26°C, highs of 33-36°C.
