Revenue tax exemption for firms that have organised seminars, business trips this year

Companies that have organised domestic seminars or business trips for employees this year will be exempted from revenue tax for those services.

The Royal Gazette website yesterday (June 22) published a royal decree of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun issued under the Revenue Code regarding the Exemption from Revenue Taxes (697th issue) BE 2563.
The royal decree stipulates that in order to promote domestic tourism and stimulate the economy, companies or juristic partnerships that organise domestic seminars or tour programmes for its employees will be exempted from revenue tax at 100 per cent of the amount paid for seminar rooms, hotel rooms, transportation fees or other related expenses.
The period of this exemption is from January 1 to December 31, 2020. Regulations and criteria will be announced by the Revenue Department’s director-general.
