The Supreme Patriarch has granted Bt2 million to help monks nationwide buy face masks to protect them from Covid-19, Tewan Liptapallop, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office, said on Tuesday (March 3).

He said that he will inform the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday about the issue. He is currently coordinating to procure face masks for monks in temples nationwide by focusing on temples that get a large number of tourists.
“To take care of monks, we have asked monks in temples popular with tourists to clean their area every day and spray disinfectants if possible,” he said.
“Currently, the number of foreign tourists has decreased but there are still many Thai people going to make merit.”
