Sendai is the sixth city and seventh stop in Japan for the airline and considered an important market with demand increasing since Japan opened its free visa policy to Thai visitors.
“On this return to Sendai, which is considered as the gateway to the northeastern region of Japan, the company, as the representative and national airline of Thailand, will help promote economic,, trade, tourist and cultural exchanges between the two countries,” the president said.
Three flights a week are scheduled with TG 626 leaving Bangkok every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 11.59pm and arriving in Sendai at 07.40am local time the following day. Return flight TG 627 flight will operate every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, departing Sendai at 11.15am and landing in Bangkok at 4.05pm.
To mark the launch, Thai Airways is offering special bonuses of up to 2,000 miles for Royal Orchid Plus (ROP) members booking flights while those travelling back from Sendai between October 29 and March 31 are entitled to increased baggage allowance,
“In addition, customers can show their boarding pass at partner hotels, restaurants, shopping malls or general stores to receive various special privileges in Sendai,” Sumeth added.
