Mother, son killed by drunk driver in Chachoengsao
A 23-year-old Chachoengsao man who was planning to enter the monkhood next month was killed alongside his mother early Friday morning, the victims of a drink driver.
Pat Sappoung was crossing a road in Muang district at 1am with his mother Karaked, 49, and father Sunthorn, 50, who have the same surname, after attending a charity concert at the Rong Beer Paed Riew restaurant.
A speeding Toyota pickup struck them, then a parked sedan before coming to rest against a power pole on the footpath. Mother and son were killed and father seriously hurt.
The driver, whose name has not been released, was reportedly intoxicated and also suffered injury.
