Hotel, restaurant blamed for black water on the shore of Koh Phi Phi
Local business operators were blamed for releasing untreated water and waste into the sea at Koh Phi Phi in Krabi in a post that went viral on social media.
Local officials immediately scrambled to respond.
Images of black water lapping on the shores of the island’s Loh Dalam Black water were posted online five days ago, and one of the local business operators blamed a hotel and a restaurant operator for the offence. However, no names were disclosed.
“This black water was seen after the rain five days ago. Today there is no black water and officials are checking to identify the source,” Ao Nang Tambon Administrative chief Pankam Kittitarakun said.
