Led by Khon Kaen University rector Assoc Professor Dr Charnchai Phanthongwirityakul, staff and employees of the university and the general public planted 1,000 tree saplings in a forest near the university’s football field on Wednesday morning.

Charnchai said the reforestation was part of the university’s project to develop the university as a “Green and Smart Campus” and to mark the 40th anniversary of the opening of the university’s library.
The Khon Kaen-based forest management office of the National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department supported the reforestation project.
The trees were planted in a forest beside the Si Than football field.
