Phuket lifeguard service warns of strong currents off island’s beaches
Phuket lifeguards on Monday warned all swimmers at the island’s beaches of strong waves and rip currents.
The head of Patong Lifeguard Service, Somprasong Sangchart, warned of strong currents even at Patong beach, where red flags have been set up.
Meanwhile, red flags are also in place on other beaches as there are rip currents off many of the island’s west coast beaches, whipped up by westerly winds of 30 kilometres per hour.
The winds are expected be strong for at least the remainder of this week, according to the forecast.
