Woman dies, girl seriously injured in Krabi head-on collision

A female motorcyclist died and her 12-year-old passenger was seriously injured after attempting a risky crossing of a road and colliding head-on with a pickup in Krabi on Tuesday.

Krabi city police and Krabi Pitak rescue workers arrived to find the body of a woman, who was later identified as 23-year-old Wilaiwan Jantra.
Nearby they found a girl, identified as Timaphon Mohthong, who had sustained a serious injury in the crash. She was rushed to Krabi Hospital.
The damaged motorcycle and pickup truck were found on the road.

Komsan Promkerd, 40, the driver of the pickup, was waiting for police at the scene.
CCTV footage shows Wilaiwan attempting a risky crossing of the road, and the pickup colliding head-on with her motorbike.
Police are continuing their investigation of the accident.
