Australian Navy and Phuket Consulate join in ‘Big Cleaning Day’
Officers from the Royal Australian Navy and representatives from the local Australian Consulate joined with Rassada Municipality officials and staff for the “Big Cleaning Day” on Monday.
On Monday morning in Rassada, led by Rassada mayor Phudit Raksarat, officials launched the activity together with officers and crew from the Australian Navy’s HMAS Canberra and HMAS Newcastle, and delegates from the Australian Consulate-General in Phuket.
Phudit said: “This year is the year of the coronation of HM King Rama X.
The Australian Navy and Australian Consulate-General joined together, in the spirit of our nations’ long-term friendship, to celebrate the occasion and the importance of being community volunteers. It was wonderful to have officers from the Australian Navy joining us on Monday.”
The two Australian Navy ships and naval officers arrived at Patong to join in the annual maritime security exercises for “Indo-Pacific Endeavour 2019” on Monday.
