Alms offering to monks at Lumphini Park on Songkran Day

Members of the public also had a chance to pay respect to and pour water onto the sacred Phra Buddha Sihing image, which was brought from the National Museum to be temporarily enshrined in Lumphini Park during this Thai traditional New Year celebration.
The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration also hosted various Songkran-related activities at the park emphasising Thai culture, including a ceremony to pour water and ask for New Year blessing from the seniors and a Songkran beauty queen contest.
