Business operators joined with locals in Kata Noi to march in protest at the luxury condo development.
Manasanan Nararattanawee, managing director of Kata Beach Company, the owner of The Peaks Residence project, said: “We bought the land for Bt434 million in 2017. All construction processes are legal according to the law.
“The land is currently in dispute between the previous owners and the Nakhon Si Thammaarat Administrative Court but we have confirmed our right to continue with the construction while the court process continues and a decision is made.
“We can confirm that the construction will continue. We have sold more than 400 units and only three units remain unsold.
The construction is now 70 per cent complete.
“The project is expected to be finished within one and a half years.”
