Family escapes house fire
A fire broke out at a two-storey house in Bangkok’s Bang Khun Thien district early on Sunday but the five residents noticed the smoke and fled to safety in time.
Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire, which broke out at 5am and engulfed the whole house. Fire-fighters took 15 minutes to put out the flames.
Home-owner Prasert Pongwichitsakul, 42, told police that he, his wife, children and relatives were sleeping when they smelled the smoke and saw the flames so they fled out of the building in time.
