A 47-year-old worker was killed when machinery at a tyre factory exploded on Monday in Nakhon Ratchasima’s Mueang district.

Samart Poonpinit died instantly when working on the machinery in a blast that also damaged a nearby ceiling and walls.
His colleague at the factory told police that Samart had climbed onto the machinery to carry out repairs.
He had been trying to open the lid when it exploded, the fellow worker added.
Technicians were deployed to the scene of the accident to collect evidence in order to help establish the cause of the blast, police said.
