Krabi immigration officers headed to Koh Phi Phi yesterday to continue their crackdown on illegal foreigners.

Raids on Ao Nang and Phi Phi have uncovered 113 cases of illegal entry, overstays, working illegally and other offences.
Krabi immigration chief Col Supparueak Pankomon said: “Phi Phi is one of Thailand’s main international tourist destinations. Many foreigners are visiting the island and check in to hotels every year.

“October is the start of the high season in Krabi. We expect that there will be a lot of tourist coming to Phi Phi. Last year more than 1 million tourists visited Krabi province.
“This month’s crackdown has included 28 overstaying foreigners, four cases of illegal entry, one drug offender, three wanted foreigners, 10 illegal workers and 67 other cases.”
