Prior to joining Pentahotels, Staal founded the apartment rental concept YawnWorld. He also founded MisterSteel, a consultancy delivering commercial concepts, strategic technical services and branding support to hospitality clients.
Staal brings with him over 25 years of experiences in corporate hospitality roles – from a corporate trainee at Grand Hyatt New York to senior management positions around the world, to eventually setting up Hyatt’s EAME office in Lausanne.
In 2006, Staal joined the executive team of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group in Brussels, where he led the group through significant growth as senior vice president, technical services. He helped grow the Radisson Blu and Park Inn brands in Europe, Africa and Middle East.
