A Chilean man in his late 20s was lucky to escape more serious injuries after his parasail finished up in trees after dragging the man along the ground and into several parked motorbikes.
The incident happened at 3.30 this afternoon on Tuesday at Patong Beach.
Kusoldarm volunteers attended the scene and the man has been taken to Patong Hospital. He’s reported to have minor lacerations, bruising and abrasions from being dragged along the ground.
This is the third reported incident in the past few months. 71 year old Roger Hussey died after falling from a parasail ride in July. Phuket’s Governor called for better regulations at the time but little appears to have been done to improve safety.
Winds were from the south-west this afternoon up to 25 kph and dangerous for many water-based activities.
