A human skull was found in mud dug up from a canal in Samut Songkram’s Muang district late on Monday night, police said.

The Muang Samut Songkram police station was alerted at 11pm that a human skull was found near a garbage dump site on a bank of Bang Kaew Canal in Tambon Mae Klong.
Chuchart Chuenchomphu, 52, told police that he was told by his neighbours that the skull was spotted after rain waters washed out some mud dug up when the municipality recently dredged the canal.
Chuchart said he checked and found it was a human skull, so he called police.
Police said had been no report of anyone missing in the area recently.
