A five-year-old girl disappeared from a house in Kanchanaburi’s Sisawat district at about noon on Sunday and was found murdered and dumped in an old septic well at a deserted house in the neighbourhood.

Police said the body of the girl was found inside a fertiliser bag that had been dropped into the three-metre-deep well on Soi 8 in Moo 1 village, tambon Thakradan.
The body was found at about 7.30pm.
Captain Anusorn Sukto, deputy inspector of Sisawat Police Station, said the girl’s throat was slit.
Doctors believe she died six to eight hours before the body was found.
Her mother told police the girl disappeared at about noon and her and her husband waited until 6pm before looking for her at neighbours’ houses, before they found the body in the septic well about 100 metres from their house.
Sisawat police chief Colonel Wanchai Onlaor said a 25-year-old man with a mental disorder had been taken into custody for questioning.
He lives next door to the girl’s house.
