THREE SUSPECTS have been arrested after three Indian men who were promised jobs in Canada were allegedly abducted at Suvarnabhumi Airport and held for ransom.

Deputy national police chief Pol General Chalermkiat Srivorakhan said yesterday police had been contacted by Indian Jishanuddin Mondalan on July 22.
He said that his brother-in-law, Shaikh Rajib, and his friends, Sabbir Ahmed and Jiaul Hossain, had travelled from Mumbai and arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport on July 7 on their way to Canada.
They were promised jobs in Canada by a gang in India and told that they would be picked up at the Bangkok airport.
However, Mondalan told police that on July 11 he was contacted by an unidentified man and told to deposit Bt1.5 million into an Indian bank account in exchange for the release of the three men.
Police examined CCTV footage at the airport on the day they arrived and saw the three men following another man and leaving the airport in a pickup truck.

On July 29, Mondalan said he had been contacted by his brother-in-law, who said that the abductors assaulted him and he asked him to transfer the money as soon as possible.
After the abductors got the ransom, they released the men in Cambodia, about 500 metres from Klong Luek border checkpoint in the Aranyaprathet district of Sa Kaew province.
Tourism police picked them up and brought them to Bangkok.
After tracing the licence plate of the pickup truck, police raided a rented house in Pattaya and arrested Kadir Mohammed, Sal Manh and Ali Arson. They have been charged with abduction and assault.
