Takorn said the NBTC will also coordinate with the Thai Industrial Standards Institute to check samples of imported Note 7 smartphones to ensure safety for the people.
He said the NBTC Monday sent a letter to Samsung Thailand, informing it that the NBTC would not allow import of any Note 7 handset from the lot with faulty batteries.
The letter informed the company that it could import and sell Note 7 of other lots that have not been recalled after it produces electrical safety certificate.
Note 7 handsets have not bee delivered to Thai customers who made pre-orders when Samsung Electronics on September 2 recalled all Note 7 for batter rechecking after faulty batteries caused some handsets to burst into flames during charging.
