The installation of LED lights and the improvement of power systems have been implemented in Ko Kret area to support tourism industry and to ensure public safety at Pailom Temple, Ko Kret District, Nonthaburi Province.
The Deputy Governor said Ko Kret is a tourist destination and a major economic hub for community level and Nonthaburi province; hence MEA as a service provider who distributes electricity in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, has set up activities to boost potential for tourism, which include the installation of LED light bulbs along tourist routes covering 5 kilometers within and around the island to ensure they are bright enough and to enhance safety as well as to save energy because these highly efficient lamps consume less power with long lasting use. MEA has also installed roofs over the footpaths, replaced the electricity meters that were due to expire, rearranged the utility poles and power lines for appropriate appearance of the changed community and organized the telecom cables to prevent car accidents from hooking over them while keeping the landscapes beautiful.
The 2nd MEA for Communities activity 2016 will be held in 18 communities of MEA’s power distribution areas and is scheduled to run from August 4 – 20, 2016 to provide knowledge and to improve power systems in the communities.
