ANOTHER arrest warrant for human trafficking has been issued for “high-society” woman Monta “Ying Kai” Yokratanakan following testimony to police by her former Laotian maid, whom Monta had accused of stealing Bt2.9 million in valuables, Metropolitan Polic

Sanit cited a report by Pol Colonel Amorn Srithunayothin, who headed the human trafficking investigation of Monta, saying the Criminal Court approved the warrant yesterday and police would notify Monta, who is detained at the Central Women's Correctional Institution.
The case relates to Monta’s alleged luring of a Laotian woman identified only as Kabkaew to work at her home in Bangkok in 2010 and 2011. After that Kabkaew fled the country and in February 2012 Monta allegedly told her to return or face legal action for “theft”.
Kabkaew returned and was allegedly detained and forced to work extremely long hours for Monta, he said.
Monta was detained last month over charges of perjury (giving false information about a criminal offence implicating another person), attempted human trafficking and lese majeste.
The perjury and other trafficking charge relate to her claim that another ex-maid, Prapawan “Goi” Jaikla, stole Bt10 million worth of gold bars and cash in 2014.
