New Gen Airways, Thai leading scheduled charter flight operator hosted the “NEW GEN AIRWAYS 2nd Anniversary TOGREATER” on July 23 at Chaopraya Room of Royal Thai Navy Concential Hall to state its success of business. Deputy Prime Minister ACM Prajin Juntong chaired the event with more than 800 participants from the government agencies and private companies in aviation and tourism business from Thailand and China.
Jarurnpong Sornprasit, chief executive officer of New Gen Airways said the airline has focused on Chinese tourist market, which has grown rapidly in the recent years. It offers scheduled charter flights from 14 Chinese cities to Don Mueang International Airport and Krabi International Airport in Thailand. All flights are fully booked throughout the year, thanks to the leading Chinese tour operators, the airline’s key business partners who are confident in the airline’s quality service, travel safety and competitive price.
“ In the past two years, the airline is successful in terms of marketing, management and customer relations. Our passengers are impressed with our punctuality, cheaper ticket price and quality in-flight meals, therefore, the airline can attract more passengers and from the first day of operation until now, we have carried more than 1 million passengers. This is very good business growth for Thai airline and we target the revenue of more than five billion baht in 2016,” said Jarurnpong.
With a fleet of eight Boeing 737 family jetliners including B737-400 series and B737-800 series, New Gen Airways currently operates scheduled charter flights in 19 routes between Thailand and China such as Don Mueang-Changsha, Don Mueang-Guilin, Don Mueang-Hefei, Krabi-Jinan, Krabi-Fuzhou and Krabi-Nanjing.
Jarurnpong said nowadays, Thailand is one of the favorite destinations for Chinese tourists. The number of Chinese tourists has grown more than 10% per year, especially the middle-class from the potential secondary cities, which have not enough flights and this is the great opportunity for New Gen Airways. We have cooperated with Chinese tour partners to expand direct point-to-point flights to Thailand. The passengers do not have to transfer flights in the major airports in Beijing or Shanghai. This helps save their time for 3-4 hours and it is our key strength, hence, New Gen Airlines received Top 10 Airlines in 2016 People’s Choice Award Thailand voted by Chinese tourists.
“New Gen Airways will expand more routes to other Chinese cities and Thailand’s key tourist destinations such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Surat Thani. We aim to be the leading regional airline by connecting destinations in Asia including ASEAN countries, India, Korea, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan as well as enhancing the capabilities of our human resources and aviation system to better serve the expanding business,” added Jarurnpong.
New Gen Airways CEO also said that in to achieve the goal of being the leading scheduled charter flight operator, the airline plans to list on the Stock Exchange of Thailand by 2017 or 2018. Currently, it is on the study process of the financial advisor. This will help the airline to expand business firmly and sustainably and compete in the fiercer international aviation market. We will use the capital for setting up the aviation training center and purchasing the full flight simulator in order to train our pilots, technicians and cabin crew for the best service and safety.
“New Gen Airways is proud to be an engine to stimulate Thailand’s economy by bringing in Chinese tourists and creating other relevant businesses. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all partners who are vital for the airline’s growth and success. Here, we are family: New Gen Airways family,” Jarurnpong concluded.
